MY SKIN SAVIOUR

Hey everyone

Its been a while since I updated you all with my skin care regime. I have completely changed what I use after breaking out quite bad. As much as I loved using the Epiduo, once I had stopped using it my acne came back. I feel like most chemically harsh treatments this happens to me personally. Anyway I discovered Skin Accumax when I started a new job in a  lovely Blowdry/Beauty bar Blush and Blow. Which is my current job as a  Blow dry specialist. My boss who is a absolute beauty queen (you can find her here http://blushingbeautyblogger.com/mother-of-the-bride-makeup) told to me I have to start taking Skin Accumax, that it will clear my skin and make it look plumed and glowing. Curiously I asked what Skin Accumax was.
Its a skin supplement which contains vitamins a, c and e and a highly active plant compound called DIM found in Broccoli. It works by balancing out your hormones and targeting the hormone causing the acne. So it has no harsh chemicals but can clear my acne?! Very excited, I brought my first multi pack and started taking them straight away. You have to take 4 a day for moderate acne and 2 a day for mild acne/breakouts. I took 4 a day as my skin was breaking out quite bad. It's now been 9 months and my skin has transformed. I have hardly any breakouts maybe like 3 spots on my chin when my period is due but that's all. I don't need to apply a lot of makeup as my scars have faded and the texture of my skin has noticeably improved. It's recommended to take 4 a day for a year and then go down to 2 a day and then 1 a day.

I honesty couldn't recommend this enough. Even if it doesn't work, Which I doubt, you are still getting the benefits of taking the vitamins which I'm certain have made my hair grow and my nails stronger. Please do tell me if you have taken Skin Accumax before and how it was for you.

What I have been cooking

Since giving up meat and dairy I have come across a variety of different ingredients, herbs and spices. I never knew vegetables could taste so nice.

I have replaced meat with beans and lentils to ensure I am still getting enough protein. Chickpeas, Red kidney Beans, Butter Beans are some of the few that have protein. One of my favourite dishes is lentil curry. It's super easy to make and very quick. The kids love it too.

It's ingredients are

1½ tablespoons extra virgin coconut oil

1 cup diced onion

1 cup dried red lentils

½ teaspoon ground turmeric

1 tablespoon mild curry powder

1 teaspoon ginger powder

1 teaspoon garlic salt

½ teaspoon Himalayan Salt

Freshly ground black pepper

3½ cups water

1 cup of coconut milk

You just need to brown off the Onion then add the rest of the ingredients, bring to the boil and then simmer for 25 minutes until lentils are soft.

This is a very basic lentil curry. You can add vegetables and potatoes to it. I added sultanas which gave it a sweet taste. Also I didn't make it too spicy so the kids can eat it so if you wanted to spice it up you can add cayenne pepper or chilli.

The spices in this curry are super good for you. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory and a antioxidant. Ginger is also anti-inflammatory. It helps with digestion and nausea. It also has been proven to lower blood sugar levels.

I'm Back

Its the 8th of April 2017, 2 years since I posted on my blog and it feels so good to be back. I have had a very long break from blogging for various reasons. I had to take time out to work on my self and my personal development which is continuous as we are always learning.  I also was struggling to juggle having 2 children, blog and take care of my home. I felt like the content I was posting was a bit scattered. Although I look back, read it and makes me happy to see actually how much I have changed and grown as a person it also does make me cringe a little. So here I am and I have so much to share with you. So much has happened in 2 years. I'm a pescatairian and 70% vegan, I have a new job as a Blowdry specialist and my skin is remarkably better. That's just a few of the big changes that has taken place. I have so many new skincare products to share with you and the most mouthwatering vegan recipes.

6 weeks using Epiduo

It's coming up to 6 weeks of using Epiduo and I'm so pleased. I haven't had any break outs in the last 2 weeks and my scars are fading more and more everyday. My skin is still extremely dry from the cream but the dry skin falls off to reveal new skin so it's all part of the process. It's a slow one at that but I'm finding it to be well worth it.
I'm starting to look for a good spf that won't irritate my skin and iv come across quite a few for sensitive, acne prone skin. I'm going to do a whole different post about spf soon and show you which one I decided to go for.
Other than that I'm still using Bare Minerals original foundation wich is just perfect for acne prone skin and I use 2 cleansers now. Iv started to use Neutrogena visably clear gentle everyday face scrub. It's very good. It is non irritant and I feel like my face has had a good cleanse after using it. The best part about this cleanser is its really affordable.

Positive thought of the day

You were given this life because you are strong enough to live it. What ever is being thrown at you is for a reason and nothing bad lasts forever.

What I'v Been Cooking

I love to cook. It makes me so happy and relaxed. I enjoy the process of finding recipes, buying all the ingredients and then making the food but most of all eating the food!

Below are a few meals I prepared which are healthy and nutritious for adults and for the little ones.

The First one is a Fish cake and smoked cod laying on a bed of spinach with pine nuts, avacado and baby plum tomatoes.

The second dish is Suated Kale, Avacado, Vine Tomatoes, Sauted Mushrooms and Poached egg.

The Third one is Roasted Chickpeas, steamed Broccoli, mashed Avacado with a Kale stir fry.

If you want to know the method on cooking any or these dinners comment below. I hope I have inspired you with some meal ideas.

8th Day Using Epiduo

Heeyyyyy so it's day 8 of using Epiduo and this is how my skin looks.
Alot of the red marks are scarring - unfortunately but amongst these marks are spots. The sneaky ones that lay under skin and wait for the right time to show like when your going out to a really fancy event grrrrrr.

The Epiduo is still drying out my skin. It's like my skin feels like it has a thick layer of rough skin in patches. It's very annoying but I'm not thinking about it as I know it's all part of the process. Soon this skin will shed and new skin will form. I hope! Lol but my spots are really strinking and drying out. They are almost gone. So I'm seeing results. No new ones have come up these last 4 days wooohoooo! I am super pleased with the way the cream is working so far. The only thing bothering me is how dry my skin is but I'm  trying to ride it through. I don't want to use anything that's not non comedogenic as it will clog my pores and create more spots.
I have a follow up appointment 3 weeks from now with the dermatologist. Hopefully if by then my acne has cleared up, we will discuss what steps I need to take to maintain my skin from having another break out of further acne.
Any way I'm still using Cetephil cleanser and Dalacin T lotion which are working wonders for me. Il be back woth another update in a few days.

Positive Thought Of The Day

Talking about our problems is our greatest addiction. Break the habit and talk about your joys.
There is so much to be thankful for and things could be a lot worse. Appreciate the little things in life.

Day 3 using Epiduo

I just thought I would give you all a skin care update. I have been using Epiduo for 3 days now. I posted about it in my previous post (New skincare routine). Its making my skin soooo dry and red. It feels like I have been sunbathing in 40° heat for a whole day with no spf. It's very sore to touch and I'm finding patches of rough skin. I no this Is all part of the process and I need to stick it out to see the results. So I'm using cetephil cleanser and am going to purchase their moisturiser.  This should help with the dryness I hope! My make up is still going on smoothly as well which is pleasing as I was extremly worries I wouldnt be able to where none with all the dryness. On the plus side The spots are strinking and I havnt broke out in any more. Hooray. So fingers crossed it continues to work and I will let you guys no in a few days how my skin is. If there is any one else using this cream I would love to hear how your finding it.

Positive Thought of The Day

DON'T Worry Be Happy

The more you worry the worse the situation gets you over think things and then things start multiplying in your head and you end up creating a whole new senerio. So what ever it is leave it alone, jot it down on a price of paper or in your dairy and stop worrying. Be happy because it always turns out good at the end and if it doesn't that means it's not the end yet. Be patient. Have a good week 😊
